Cops called in

Published on: 11/20/2009.

POLICE have been called in to investigate the matter involving a Registration Department worker and a Government security guard.

Yesterday, industrial relations officer Caswell Franklyn revealed the matter was engaging the police's attention and the National Union of Public Workers had already spoken to a lawyer.

"We will see what happens with the police case. We don't want a Sandy Lane situation where the police was involved and the staff come out to represent the worker when there was no need for it at that point in time," he told those on the steps of the Barbados Supreme Court Complex.

The worker at the centre of the incident, Trecia Collymore, was interviewed by police yesterday.

I wonder what has become of the respectful Barbadian that existed only a few years ago.
I was able to witness a lady having to toot her car horn for 15mins before she could get some of this schools (4) young kids to move out of the middle of the road, they were just standing there !!! Then had the gaul to ask her if she can't wait and that she needs manners and one of the girls proceeded to behave in a very DISREPECTFUL manner, lord help her parents. The headteacher , parents and police need to do something about these children.Ihope that when i visit this island that it is made clear to these young ones that they need to do their part for tourism too ,because I would have spoken to them and they might want to beat me. These things make people wonder what type of a future your island will have , I do feel sorry for those young people they will not live long enough with such attitudes.

What is the reason for writing this article if the public has to form their own conclusion as to what happened. Pray tell us what this all about.

No facts stated, but this seems to be boiling down to a feud and will get worse. As far as I am aware, the matter involving the Legal Assistant and the Security Guard over parking space was never resolved and now this. Each seem to have their own power and rights. The AG, CJ and Registrar need to do something quickly. This is not look good for the Justice System and should not be allowed to fester.
