Guyana: 'Evidence in hand'

Published on: 7/24/2009.

GEORGETOWN - Authorities in Barbados are now in possession of documented allegations of ill-treatment of Guyanese deported from the island.

Guyana's Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett told the Stabroek News on Wednesday that the complaints gathered at the ministry and the consulate in Barbados, were forwarded to Bridgetown for attention and she was awaiting word from the authorities in Barbados. (Stabroek News)

The content of the comment says it all. No one says that it is OK for anyone to be on your rock illegally. If you should just not allow your emotions to blind your vision you will undertstand that the issue here is the way the illegal citizens are being treated when caught. Why is it not surprising that most of the comments came from you who live off the ISLAND. Anyway we Guyanese are gracious and the same way we accepted your forefathers in our country many years ago when they came seeking a better life we will accept you again when the winds of change come ...and trust me they will.

This is a letter to Barbados and Barbadians. This problem with these Illegal Guyanese is causing you a very serious problem, I guess you are not aware of this from what I am hearing coming from Barbadians there. There is a Group of these Guyanese are very envious of you and they are doing every thing in their power to tarnish your reputition internationally and it is working. These Gyananese are not your friends as you may think. They are and will continue to destroy your repitution and your good name that you spent Centuries to build up. My advise is to get infront of this problem and deal head on with it. You allow the developers of your land to exploit the cheap labour of these workers for their own benefit while the Government look in the opposict direction for whatever reason they did. The time has come for all of you to unite and deal firmley with this matter before it is tooo late. IT always happens, people will bite the hand that feed them. Your problem is much bigger. Your country is at state, you need to unite and act in your own best interest. Good Luck!!!

Friend of all.

When are the "South Americans" Gonna learn that they have toi come clean ? : 7/24/2009
These Documents the Guyana Gov. Authorities compiled to try to prove "Barbados" wrong in protecting their sovereign nation from these pilferers, who want only to take advantage of the infrastructure that little Barbados has to offer its "citizens" should be put in a sealed envelope and "return to sender" or better yet,in the Guyana consulate's trash can. Our people should not spend any money on postage stamps, necessary to respond to any of their concerns. When and If they listen to "The mouth of Barbados" The Rt. Hon PM Mr. D Thompson, who spoke on behalf of all "his" people, then we would entertain their concerns. Our Laws MUST be respected, and by extension, our country and its people.Only when this occurs, should the powers that be, be entertained. We place our PM in a position of trust. Guyana, please look after Guyana, and Guyanese in Guyana . We will "Look after Guyanese in Barbados,(should they choose to remain) .....Illegaly

Documented Truths : 7/24/2009
I bet the Foreign Minister will not be trying to find out what kind of activities those returning home were involved in while in Barbados and even more important why did they leave Guyana to live illegally in another 3rd world country to begin with. The norm is to leave the 3rd world for the 1st world.....so people can infer what they like but the facts remains if Barbados allows the current wave of illegal immigration to continue the only loser will be Barbados. Whatever progress Barbados has made would be regressed due to acute over-population and whether or not the Gov't would be willing/or able to absorb the cost of illegal immigration on the health & education systems especially or try to pass it on to the already heavily taxed bona fide tax-payers.

Easy

Evidence in hand : 7/24/2009
IF these people who are in Barbados illegally would go home you would not have this problem. We have idiots like mr. reddy cursing Barbados and Barbadians every day in the guyanese media and still living in Barbados.
