Man damages
door after woman slights him

SHAME was written across a father's face as he sat in the District "A" Criminal Court and heard his son admit damaging a door to a house that was not his.
But the real embarrassment came when Peter Anderson Deane of Gullyfield Avenue, Bayville, St Michael, in admitting his guilt, said he went to a club over the weekend, picked up a Jamaican woman and took her to the house for sexual favours costing $160.
However, he never got the chance to satisfy his desires because, according to him, although he had had over $800 in his pocket, when he reached the house he no longer had any money.
The woman, apparently recognising that he might've been up to no good, ordered him to leave. Angered by the reproach, Deane picked up a stone and damaged the door.
Prosecutor Sergeant Trenton Small told the court the police were called in and Deane was subsequently arrested and charged.
When questioned about his actions by Magistrate Pamela Beckles, the 34-year-old maintenance man explained that he attempted to search fror the money but the woman told him to leave.
Magistrate Beckles then told him, "If she stole it, too bad, too sad. You went there to get up to no good, you went there to commit a crime - prostitution is a crime."
She ordered him to pay $250 for damaging the door, to be paid on or before February 26 or he will spend three months in prison. He was then released on $750 bail, which was signed for by his father, who stood in the witness box expressing disgust at his son's actions.
Before discharging them, Magistrate Beckles told Deane's father he should have a good, firm talk with his son

Maybe more Bajan must go to other caribbean country to see how smart their men are. why this fool fool man of 34 let this woman con him, but serve him right he deserve it. a woman sees a fool and uses him. my hat off to that jamaican woman, where are our smart bajan woman, some of us must take away our men money so they cant go give it away. the man is 34 years old. what is his father going to say to him that he didn't say 40-11 years ago. the only thing he can say is give me back my $750.00!
he should know better than to be picking up ho's in the club...serves him right.

On a weekend in these hard economic times he went to a club with $800,I would bet the utilities at his gullyfield residence are in arears,I would also bet that if he has children of his own their are not maintained, at 34 years old his father going to court with him, says how knowledgable he is, might not have found the place without his dad.

Find another $800 Peter Deane and go and enroll in some course(s) and learn something. ALthough you are adult, hopefully you'll find a good tutor who at this eleventh hour will also help you out with some life lessons (including common sense).

I am sure there must be bajan living legal somewhere in the world too. i hate it when we speak like this no wonder our country cant be any better the boy is a fool. when you want to use women this is what you get, I guess she had no intention of being used. good for her. it does not matter is she is jamaican trinidadian or bajan, men must stop tempting woman to for their goods

Magistrate Beckles is correct in her guidance Counselor ruling. Never read the law as it is written, just legislate from the bench. Although this is really a crime of joint venture in it's execution, between a man and a woman, the man is guilty as sin! This is the oldest crime and the "john" is the only social outcast here. Imagine telling a father to counsel his grown son and denying the man his counter claim which is fundemental and prima facie to him damaging the door.

In these types of encounters you risk losing all!! But at least good thing is that the police responded quickly to the call. Hope it is the same timely response if ever I have to call them about anything.

What the woman status has to do with the boy (man) being an idiot, they are Barbadian living many parts of the world without legal status. The woman saw a fool and she used him to her advantage. Lots of Jamaicans are like that, if they see that they can trick the dead they will. (I just being a little bias here) but this true. He and others just like him can allow a woman to trick him again.

He should have to pay for the door, pay the court costs and given 30 days in the slammer. Where is his brain? Prostitutes can offer themselves for sale but if there are no takers - there's no sale. The judge got it quite right, he was up to no good. Great he lost his money, he would not have thought about giving that to his child or a needy relative. Next time he will think twice and also think about how much disease he could be spreading after cavoting with a prostitute.

What is the Jamaican woman's immigrant status, seeing that she would have called the police on the man? I suspect she is still working in the clubs and winking at police from time to time when they 'see her'.

He should not be made to pqy for the door. He should pay restitution to the court, but not that woman because she was also committing a crime and that was prostitution and she too should be made to pay. That is to pay for the door out of her pocket.This payment for the door to her is crime paying for crime.

I wonder if he has a girlfriend and children? Ladies take note when your man says he is going to the club. Now seriously, I can't fathom his rationale of damaging the door. You don't have the money anymore for the goods or service, you leave peacefully. They are some children that irregardless of what you do, they will always do the wrong things. If talking to them did not work while you were raising them, I don't see how it will work on adult children. You have to leave them to wake up on their own at some point. Furthermore this man needs some assistance with anger management.
