Young and Gifted - Seeing beyond her years

PLAYING computer games is one of Keziah's pastimes.

Published on: 8/6/2009.

by Cheryl Harewood

WHEN SHE WAS SEVEN MONTHS in her mother's womb, the doctors advised Keziah Taylor's mum Georgina to abort her. Her mum refused. She and her husband Stephen had prayed for a child and it was prophesied they would have a child.

So when Georgina was told that her unborn child was not growing in her womb, she sought godly advice and prayed for a miracle. Keziah Anna was born on August 22, 2003.

She weighed just 1.31 pounds, but her parents never gave up hope that she would be a healthy baby - even though she was hospitalised for almost three months.

"Keziah was a promise from God. We could not abort her. We prayed for her and God told my wife the fruit of her womb would be blessed, according to Deuteronomy 28: 4," Stephen said.

While in hospital, Keziah never had to go on oxygen. By the age of ten months she was a walking miracle, and at one year old, she was talking.

Keziah, who resides at Gills Road, St Michael, is not just a miracle child. She is a gifted, born-again believer and a baptised member of Christ Is The Answer Family Church, Little Battaley's, St Peter.

In fact, it was she ho told her parents she wanted to be baptised just as Jesus was.

Her dream was fulfilled last Valentine's Day.

Keziah who loves to pray also enjoys worshipping in dance, and singing songs which she composes.

"I love to dance to the Lord and I love to sing," a serious Keziah said.

Two of Keziah's many gifts are foreknowledge of happenings, and praying specifically into the lives of others.

"She tells us things which are true. One night we left home to go to Kentucky. Before we left she advised us to go to the Black Rock branch, but we went to town instead.

When we got there neither Kentucky or Chefette had what we wanted and we had to go to Black Rock, just like she told us to," Stephen noted.

On another occasion her mum visited Cave Shepherd but could not find the department she wanted. Although it was Keziah's first visit there, she seized her mum's hand and said, "Let me show you where the department is."

Another revelation came one day when Keziah questioned her parents about the basement in the house. That basement, noted her dad, was there when he was a child, yet Keziah who grew up never knowing about a basement just asked about it.

There have been several other incidents in which Keziah would reveal truths to her parents. For example, while out one day her parents decided to buy her pizza. When they got home she met them at the door and declared: "I know you are going to buy pizza for me and I am going with you."

Then there was the time when her mum brought her a new dress for church but did not tell her. When she reached home, Keziah simply asked her: "Where is the dress you brought me for church?"

"I know Keziah is a special child. When I ask her who tells her these things, she always says, 'Jesus tells me'," explained Stephen, who also added that she has had many dreams about heaven which she shares with her mum and him.

"Before she was born the Lord told us He was going to take her in His hands," and I can see that he has," Stephen said of his pint-sized daughter, who entered Wesley Hall School last September.

While she was a late starter, Keziah has learnt fast. Oftentimes she surprises family and friends with her wide vocabulary.

"Sometimes she calls words which we have to check in the dictionary. She is very knowledgeable about things," said Stephen.

"When she was hospitalised soon after birth, she knew she was there. One day she asked us why we left her there. She said she cried a lot because she wanted us and not the doctors there with her," Stephen disclosed.

Keziah is adamant that she wants to be "a worker for the Lord" and that she wants to preach. She would also tell you that Jesus personally told her to let the little children come unto Him.

She has surely followed His advice.

To the poster Heru, You mentioned that the things this child is doing is quite normal in the youraba/akan faith and that you were wondering what Christians would say if a person with dreadlocks in Africa, was praticing this faith and doing the same thing as this child in BIM is now doing that Christians would call it voodoo or spooky. Well heru, there are two forces in the world, Good and evil. God represents the good and the devil represents the evil. when one is led or inspired by God the Holy Spirit, he/she can do things that look like voodoo, spooky, etc. The same is true for those who are led by the devil and his demonic spirits. They can do things that people can label voodoo or spooky as well. However, there is a difference! For example, When God sent Moses to Pharaoh to bring the Israelites out of bondage from Egypt, Moses took a staff in his hands which turned into a snake when God told him to throw it down . Pharaoh's diviners/charmers also had a staff. They throw their staff down when pharaoh told them to do so and theirs turned into a snake as well. It was all over when Moses's snake swallowed up pharaoh's snake. The counterfeit will always try to be like the real thing but the end result each time will be that Good always conquers evil.

Gifted : 8/6/2009
She is in this world for a divine purpose. I guarantee you, that this would not be the last you hear about her. To her parents, guard your child ! watch and limit who you allow in her inner circle. Above all else, cover her in prayer.

What a blessed little girl. Her parents seem to be doing a wonderful job stewarding their gift.

Inspiring : 8/6/2009
Reading this article has given great credence to Faith. Despite the medical advice, the parents to their credit stood by their faith and belief that their unborn daughter was in no danger and lives through the grace and spirit of The Lord. Her life is an example that with God all things are possible and having Faith and Trust in God that all things will work according to God's plan. This young lady is well on her way.

what a wanderful natural afrikan insightful child...seems pretty common to me, not sure if it had anything to do with a jesus or lord who happens to be a man, and speaks to mortal humans...but we have to rite to believe what we want. i wish her all the best...
