

A $16 MILLION diesel subsidy will be debated as part of a $68 million resolution when the House of Assembly sits today at 10 a.m.
Prime Minister David Thompson is expected to speak on the provision of $16 million afor financing of subsidised diesel to manufacturers, farmers, fisherfolk, vehicles, and the Transport Board.
It will be part of the overall resolution to grant $68 017 018 from the Consolidated Fund and place it at the disposal of the Government to supplement the Estimates 2009-2010.
Also under Government Business is the Second Reading of the Barbados Water Authority (Amendment) Bill - 2008; the Public Service (Amendment) Bill - 2009; Constitution (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill - 2009 and the First Reading of the Health Services (Amendment) Bill - 2009. These are under the names of Minister of Economic Affairs Dr David Estwick, Prime Minister Thompson, and Minister of Health Donville Inniss.
A resolution is also to be moved to approve the Arts And Sport Promotion Fund (Amendment) Regulations - 2009. (RJ)
