February date for charged cop

KINGSTON - The policeman charged with the murder of a 14-year-old schoolgirl who went missing a few weeks after she accused him of sexually assaulting her, is to be tried on February 3.
The trial date was set last Friday when Constable Rushan Hamilton, 22, appeared in the Home Circuit Court.
A few weeks after the girl made a report to the police on October 10 last year that she had been allegedly sexually assaulted by Hamilton, she went missing.
Hamilton was charged with carnal abuse in October last year, but last March he was also charged with murder. The body has not been found and there are no witnesses.
The girl went missing from her gate at Harbour View, St Andrew, in late October last year and has not been seen since. Hamilton is in custody. (The STAR)
