AALIYAH ALLEYNE has Barbados dreaming of the 2010 CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Football Championships.
But they aren't ready to start booking those tickets just yet.
The 14-year-old forward scored a crucial second-half strike as the Bajans held on for a 1-1 draw against hosts Suriname in their opening Group D Caribbean Zone first-round encounter on Wednesday night.
Alleyne equalised in the 65th minute, beating the home side's custodian after she came off the line to clear the oncoming striker's initial attempt.
Alleyne's goal came after Barbados had surrendered a penalty midway through the first half as Shaneka Nicholls brought down an opposing player in the box.
However, Suriname were probably lucky to only concede one goal in the second half, as the visitors dominated possession and forced the hometown keeper into several spectacular saves.
Barbados will be looking to score heavily tonight when they take on St Kitts in their final Group D game. (JM)
