PEDDY & COLLY : 11/8/2009
Let's face the facts: Peddy & Colly are passed their prime and will not wear the maroon cap again. But this doesn't necessarily mean that their skill, knowledge, experience and bowling insights can't be put to use for the benefit of Bajan cricket. I say alternate them in the Regional competition, so that as some pointed out here, they could help the youngsters such as Roach, the Under-19 captain (forgot his name)and any others who will be the spearhead of our bowling attack in the future. We have a tendency to want to confine older players to the scrapheap when their playing days are waning. BTW, why does Dale Richards pull the disappearing act on us so often?
rxpa3 : 11/7/2009
Do rxpa3 really understand cricket.A statement like yours is the reason w.i cricket is at a low level. When Lloyd and his team abandon w.i for kerry packer, they were replaced with guys just as good. They came back a few years later and were taken back . the replacement players were dump, so they left the region taking along who were next in line . when lloyd and company started to leave, the cupboard was vertualy bear,so they turn to the youngsters who never got the chance to develope.I SAY put the young pacers in with corey or tino as first change ,but dont play both together. That experience is needed especially when thing get tough.

When people comment about corey and peddy getting picked back for barbados trial I really cant see what is the problem, if these guys are good enough to play county cricket which is of a way higher standard than our local caribbean competition what is wrong with them playing for barbados. I do understand that you have to look to the future but they need guidance because most of them dont have half the control as those 2 guys in question and none of them can hold their own in county cricket so i really dont see what is the problem. I think all the selectors need to do is get the right mix between youth and experience

for god sake people wake uo i hope those two guys are just there to help the youngsters and notplay their time has past
Scraping the bottom of the barrel : 11/7/2009
The Barbados selectors must be joking. Are you telling me that they have lost faith in the younger players so they have to go back to the old guard. Barbados seems to play cricket year round and I look to Barbados to produce new bright prospects all of the time. It seem as if you are now scraping the bottom of the barrel if you have to go back to Collins and Collymore. I would rather groom younger players and lose than to go back for these older guys and win. It will profit the Bajans nothing.I am disappointed.
Good Going : 11/7/2009
These guys can teach the younger ones how to control their bowling and also their mind set. Being a good friends of Corey I know that he is more than capable to play at the highest level still, he as taken the 2nd most wickets at sussex this season and knows cricket very well as for peddy as always his left handed swing can always test people on the right wickets. GOOD MOVE to help the younger ones inprove.
