FAST BOWLER Demel Lorde became the second bowler in four days and the third ever to achieve a hat-trick in the Christ Church Foundation School Joel Garner Twenty20 Championship on Friday night.
Lorde achieved the feat en route to a cheap six-wicket haul, as he spurred the Norman/Roy Marshall Brothers Lodge Road XI to a comprehensive 122-run win over the Irvine King (1990-94) team at Dover on Friday night.
With it, the Marshall Brothers XI joined another community side, Joseph Harris Dover, in gaining the maximum six points after two matches to be in strong contention for semi-final places.
In the opening match on Friday, the Harris XI demolished the Lewin/Gilpin Jones Brothers PTA by 82 runs. This means that the Jones Brothers XI and the Irvine King XI are out of the 12-team tournament without gaining any points.
Bowling from the same southern end where captain and off-spinner Ryan Wiggins grabbed a hat-trick for Anderson Cummins XI (2000-04) against Bran Williams XI (1985-89) on Tuesday night, Lorde was virtually unplayable as he jolted the batsmen with pace and accuracy.
