TALK OF THE TURF: The challenge didn't materialise and pre-race favourite Areutalkintome, with jockey Rico Walcott on board, won the Midsummer Classic by six lengths yesterday.

AREYOUTALKINTOME set the Garrison abuzz with another devastating performance in the Pinnacle Feeds Midsummer Creole Classic yesterday.

Confidently ridden by Rico Walcott in the 1 800 metres event, the Saffie Joseph Jr-owned and trained colt took up the running just after the four-furlong marker and it was all over "bar the shouting".

And there were lots of shouting from supporters in the stands as Areutalkintome motored up the home stretch with Walcott, flown in from Canada specially for the ride, eased the colt close home, peeping between his legs in the process at his beaten opponents.

The win was Areutalkintome's fifth in succession, and it put him on course to landing the usually elusive Triple Crown, having already won the Barbados Guineas on April 25.

The Barbados Derby, which will run off in August, is the third leg of the Triple Crown.

Areutalkintome broke quickly from the gates early but was quickly passed by Show Me The Money, with Richard Lunan in the saddle.

Show Me The Money set a steady early pace and was holding a comfortable lead when the horses passed the stands for the first time.

Lunan sent the Robert Peirce-trained colt into a long lead going down the back stretch, and he was followed by La Padrino (Wesley Cave), Don Portalsonny (Andy Ward), Areutalkintome, and Sunny Side.

Walcott asked Areutalkintome for an effort between the four and three-furlong markers and the colt quickly joined and easily went past Show Me The Money.

Easy winner

The colt was given his head shortly after he entered the home-stretch and he quickened away from his 11 other opponents and ran out an easy winner.

Don Portalsonny, ridden by Andy Ward, came from a long way back to finish second while Erados, with Antonio Bishop aboard, finished third.

Preach To Me, with Chris Husbands aboard, ran away with the Pinnacle Feeds Incitatus Trophy Handicap.

The speedy Kingdora set a very hot gallop and went about eight lengths clear at one stage in the 1 570 metres event.

Husbands had Preach To Me off the warm pace but produced the colt with a long, steady run from about three furlongs out, rounded the field turning into the homestretch and came with a strong run on the outside before going on to win convincingly.

Messi, with Trotman up, ran on to finish second, while Lethal Liesel, weakened into third place.

Trotman was the day's most successful jockey, as he booted home two winners. The first came on Grace Chapel in the Pinnacle Feeds Sporting Life Trophy Handicap, and the second on Ratatat in the day's final race, Division "B" of the Pinnacle Feeds Credit

Andrew Nunes trained both horses.

Top jockey Any Ward started the day on a winning note by booting home the Robert Peirce-trained Spellbound in the opening Pinnacle Feeds Liquid Bliss Trophy Condition event.

Watch the race : 7/5/2009
The writer of this article needs to watch the same races as every one else an stop writing crap. what is stated above is not an accurate mentioning of running the Pinnacle classic however the writer is right about two things that Areutalkintome won by 6 lengths and that he made it look easy.Every week is the same as writer TYRONE EVELYN gives a very inaccurate an vague telling of the days racing.
