No surprise in West Indies squad

WEST INDIES' CRICKET SELECTORS have named a predictable 15-man squad for the upcoming tour of Australia.

While recalling most of the familiar faces, they have maintained four players who were part of the second-string side when the top players were unavailable.

Batsman Travis Dowlin and fast bowler Gavin Tonge, both of whom made their international debuts against Bangladesh, have been retained, along with all-rounder Darren Sammy and fast bowler Kemar Roach.

Uncapped opening batsman Adrian Barath, who was in line to play his first Test against Bangladesh before the dispute between the West Indies Cricket Board and the West Indies Players Association escalated, is also included in the Chris Gayle-led squad that will play three Tests and a four-day match during the tour that runs from November 18 to December 20.

The squad: Chris Gayle (captain), Adrian Barath, Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Travis Dowlin, Brendan Nash, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Jerome Taylor, Gavin Tonge. Manager:
Joel Garner. Coach: David Williams. (HG)
