British High Commissioner Janet Douglas was the gracious hostess when the Royal Commonwealth Society Barbados Branch held a tea party at her official residence last week.

The elegant affair staged under a white tent on the spacious terrace overlooking lush gardens, was attended by patron of the Royal Commonwealth Society Barbados Branch, Governor General Dame Sandra Mason, who made yet another strong fashion statement in her green ensemble.

Guests were given some background on the Royal Commonwealth Society in information cards set out on each tea table. In her brief address, the High Commissioner expressed pleasure at being afforded the opportunity to work with the organisation as it celebrates 150 years since its founding. (GC)
