Cop warning

DON’T BE SURPRISED if you find yourself being detained by police.

The island’s top cop has given notice that it will be one of the measures implemented by law enforcement as they look to stem the high number of murders and violent crimes being committed in Barbados.

Additionally, Acting Commissioner Tyrone Griffith has warned that there will be more stop and searches and more police operations being conducted as well.

The heightened security has come in light of the country recording its 19th murder for the year on Monday night. Twenty-two murders were committed in 2016. (RB)
