Recently crowned Yello International Bashment Soca Monarch and reigning Party Monarch King, Lil Rick, and reigning Sweet Soca Monarch Red Plastic Bag will perform on the RISE stage on July 31.

Local producers Mastermind Creative Productions (Alain Hinds, Kirk Brown and Lester Brathwaite), who are joining forces with international promoter Jay Upscale Marketing and Promotions, with support from the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. is bringing one of the Caribbean’s biggest soca acts back to Barbados for this year’s Crop Over festival, as a stop on his worldwide Soca Kingdom Tour.

“We are ready for an event of this magnitude; in fact we are eagerly looking forward to it,” Hinds said. “We have been fine tuning our strategy and our plans as it relates RISE and each of our skill sets will be brought to bear to create an extraordinary experience. It is our pleasure to bring Machel, Super Blue and the Best of Crop Over 2018 together on one stage for a splendid display of Caribbean unity through music.”

Brown echoed similar sentiments, noting that the event will be unparalleled in its delivery.

“We know Machel and the rest of the cast will deliver a fantastic show. What we as the organisers are working on is ensuring that the event experience matches that high energy and class. Patrons will get the value they deserve from this production and we are really excited to see all that we have been working on for the people of Barbados and the Caribbean, unfold,” he said.

Early bird tickets are already gone and ticket sales continue at a steady pace.

“We expect the trend to continue and encourage persons to get their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment,” Hinds stressed.

Several more artistes are set to be named in the coming weeks. They will be joined by a full line-up of the island’s top deejays including DJ Ras, DJ Indian and Chris Gayle, Dave Smooth and Bill Gates, Salt and Don, John Doe, and Alvin Toppin. (NS/PR)
