Mustor smokes rivals

Robin?“The Undertaker” Mustor simply buried his competition when Day 3 of the fourth racing season for the Radio Operated Auto Racers (ROAR) was recently held at the Garfield Sobers Raceway.
Competing in the 1:8 Modified Off Road Class, Mustor easily won all three of his races with his Mustor’s Wholesale Liquors Team Xray XB9 to send a warning that he wouldn’t be giving up his title at the National Championships scheduled for November 4.
Chris Wadman, at the controls of his Wadman Brothers Kyosho MP9, was the only competitor who proved to be a serious threat to Mustor at times, finishing second twice and third once.
His teammate Matthew “Left Ball” Whitney, directing a Mugen MBX 6R, secured a second and third place to make it a good day at the races for Team Wadman Brothers.
In the 1:10 On Road Class, Corey Stanford made light work of the other drivers when he easily took the first of two races with his Serpent 733 from Seymour “Taxi” Byer, who was controlling a Mugen MTX 4R. Nigel Thomas placed third, also using a Mugen MTX 4R.
The second race saw Thomas reap sweet revenge with a consistent drive which forced the Birkett Brothers, Corey and Jeremy, to settle for second and third place, respectively. Stanford did not start the race due to mechanical difficulties.
Nick Harrison continued to stretch his unblemished record even further by producing another hat-trick of victories in the 1:8 Open Off Road Class with his Mugen MBX 6R. Harrison, who is still to lose a race, will no doubt be promoted to the Modified class at the start of the 2013 season.
Andrew “Scooby” Smith, competing with his Mustor’s Wholesale Liquors Team Xray XB 808, managed to record two second places, while Richard Gamble, also using a Team Xray XB 808, snapped up one second and two third places.
Austin “Bull Winkle” Garner was plagued with mechanical issues for the entire day but still managed to capture a third place. (PR/EZS)
