As a result, one producer said he might have to lay off some of his staff.
Anthony Spencer, chief executive officer (CEO) of Sunrise Chicks Inc., said it was not something he wanted to do but his business was under pressure from the imports.
He was speaking at press conference called by CEO of the Barbados Agricultural Society, James Paul, at the Grotto yesterday to address concerns about an article that appeared in the last SUNDAY SUNÂ where a local producer was making a call to import poultry. (SB)
