Cara, Joa putting God first

In a world saturated with premarital sex and relationships, young Christian couple Joa Jean-Baptiste and Cara Foster are choosing to put God first and hold fast to their purity.

But it’s no easy task. Joa, 23, and Cara, 24, are set to be married on July 21 this year and say it’s a daily struggle but with God at the forefront of their relationship they are making it.

“Honestly, staying pure in this day and age is hard. When people hear that we have chosen to remain pure, they would ask us how we want to get married and we never had sex and we won’t know how it will be and if it’s not good, then we will be stuck with each other for life. But they are just naysayers,” Cara said.

She said it was the life she and her fiancé chose to live so they make it work.

Joa, who is not a virgin but has taken a vow to remain pure until marriage with Cara, said it was more of mental challenge for him.

“I had to move from focusing on the physical part of the relationship and focus on the mental and spiritual part of the relationship so we can satisfy each other there since we can’t satisfy the physical. So I had to learn Cara and learn the things that make her happy. So in essence I had to make love to Cara’s mind since I can’t make love to her body,” Joa said. (DB)
