QUALIFYING for the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup is Barbados’ biggest goal.
Newly appointed head coach Mario Harte says the national women’s team is capable of advancing to the next round of the Concacaf Championship starting Saturday in St Kitts and Nevis.
The Tridents will be without star striker and Under-15 captain Caitlyn Padmore, who had an issue with her passport.
Even though Harte is confident prolific forward Felicia Jarvis and midfielder Marissa King will step up, he described Padmore’s absence as a major blow.
“Caitlyn will be a big miss. We know what she brings to the team, but I believe we have the talent to get the job done. Players like Felicia Jarvis, Nashandi Clarke and Marissa King who played international games before, will be expected to perform because they have the experience,” Harte said. (AG-B)
