BARBADIANS ARE BEING encouraged to observe a minute of silence at noon next Thursday, September 3 in memory of the six young women who died in the 2010 Campus Trendz fire and others who have lost their lives to violence.

The appeal came from one of the coordinators of the September 3rd Foundation, David Comissiong , during a Press conference today at the Clement Payne Cultural Centre.

The minute will form part of a 90-minute event in National Heroes’ Square.

Comissiong lamented that getting money by any means now seems to be the mentality of some Barbadians and he called on residents to think before they act.

“Our people, young old and middle aged should consider the loss and pain [certain acts] will cause.  [People should remember] Black lives matter and Black lives are of worth. In Barbados we are losing too many lives,” he said.” (MR)
