On a night?when a new champion emerged in the fifth Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre the large crowd got their money’s value with matchups and square offs in the four categories of competition.
The battle between new king Martinus Durrant, deposed ruler Hoskyn Worrell and would-be monarch Stevenson Belle was captivating and breathtaking.
Durrant and Worrell held off challenges from Mr Bridgetown Ramon Broomes, three-times Open winner Patrick “Mr Granite” Harris and Joe “Runt” Bourne.
The displays from the Female Figure competitors and Bikini models could have been better, but there was no disputing the magnificent form and shape of Ramona Morgan and Antoinette Downie, as well as Jeanna Johnson and Domini Alleyne, whose smile and charm underscored her oozing sensuality.
However, the fans, particularly the females, screamed themselves hoarse when Bajan-born guest poser out of the United States, Andrew “Dru” Jemmott, took the stage displaying tremendous mass and sharpness.
Announcing that he recently got his pro licence, Jemmott showed that he would soon be receiving more than a licence to thrill by going into the audience to give the fans a close-up view of his physique, much to their delight. (KB)
