Race 8 a toss-up

Punters could be in for a real headache today when trying to find the winner of the day’s final race at the Garrison Savannah. It is easily one of, if not the most exciting race on the card.
The race in the spotlight is the BTC Employees Handicap for three-year-old and older horses rated 70-95 and also open to horses rated 69 and below over 1 100 metres.
No fewer than six horses have outstanding claims in this race.
The Christopher Gibbs-owned Dark Knight, packing the top weight of 126 pounds, defeated the 0-145 rated sprinter in the Rotherley Construction Inc. Sprint Trophy Handicap early during the first racing season.
What makes it interesting from his perspective is that he has not raced since that victory on February 12 and has stepped up 18 pounds after that win.
Although this field is not as classy as the ones he defeated, he will find it tough but merits respect.
The Sir David Seale-owned Golden Moment ran the race of her career last start when she finished fourth in the Lost In The Fog Trophy Handicap for horses rated 115-140 over 1 100 metres.
She ran out of steam in the home stretch and providing she came away from that race sound, she is a danger.
Bill Haley and the Comics-owned Byhookorbycreek last scored at this trip when she won the Bushy Park Trophy Handicap for two-year-old importeds. She has the tactical speed and, if positioned correctly, can find herself involved at the end for the photo shot.
Lord Michael Taylor’s Pure Temptation, in his last attempt at this trip, was seen closing extremely fast in the latter stages of the Ginger Lily Handicap for horses rated 60-85.
In that race he dead-heated for third position with Fedrica. Now 11 pounds better off he will most likely get tailed off early, but could come home revs up and sirens blaring.
Senator G. Cave and S. Bynoe are hoping to have their say with their mare No Spin Zone. She beat this company before when she took the III Diamonds International Mont Blanc Meisterstuck Handicap over today’s trip.
Handicapped at 111 pounds, some would say “This is suga”.
Dance The Distance has been in healthy form recently, winning two of his last three starts both over 1 570 metres. He is well stretched out and could be around at the finish.
The other runners are Cash Boy and Time D’or and they can be expected to be in the hustle early. Whether they can sustain the early gallop is questionable.
Vandross appears desperate for a lifeline, Mystical Magic has not raced for some time, while Greeley Gone West is the only maiden in the field but handicapped with the penny stamp of 108 pounds.
She might appear in the middle of the night dressed in ski mask to take the top prize.
