SOME FAMILIES of missing people may be taking too long before they make contact with the police for help.
This was one of the responses of the Royal Barbados Police Force as it fended off heavy criticism on social media yesterday about the extensive state resources employed in the weekend search for Karen Harris.
Harris, a Caucasian upper class mother of two, was found 24 hours after she was reported missing.
The critics contended that privilege, class and race influenced the mammoth resources employed at levels that included the Barbados Red Cross, Crime Stoppers, the Rapid Response Unit, the Police Force’s Special Services Unit and members of the Barbados Defence Force (BDF).
