Multiple Formula 1 Grand Prix winner David Coulthard rolled back the years and drove away with the Race of Champions at Bushy Park yesterday.
It was experience over youth, as the now retired 43-year-old Scotsman turned in a stunning performance, needing only two races in the best-of-three final to take his first overall victory in the competition.
“It was my years of experience that helped to take the title over a very promising young driver whose star is still rising,” the 13-time Grand Prix winner said afterwards.
In the first race of the final, and driving the ROC Buggy, Coulthard beat Mercedes Formula 1 reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein by a second-and-a-half.
