NO GENERAL CARGO WILL be delivered today at the Bridgetown Port or at the cargo section of the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA).

In fact, customs officers will only process medicinal cargo or perishable items.

It’s the latest of stepped up protest action by customs officers, who are angry over attempts by the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) to introduce option forms to workers without first fully ventilating the proposed transition with their trade unions.

Customs officers attached to the Customs and Excise headquarters at Warrens and those stationed at the Barbados Port Authority’s building at University Row are also expected to walk off the job today.
