THE BUSINESS OF FILM PRODUCTION is a new area that creative Barbadians are pursuing and local film producers have certainly been pitching to the world, with participation in the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France this year.

Head of the European Union Delegation in Barbados Mikael Barfod, speaking at the opening of this year’s European Film Festival, encouraged more Barbadians to get involved in film production and take advantage of opportunities being offered through the European Partnership Agreement (EPA).

Barfod spoke as he welcomed people in the arts, diplomats and a host of other guests to a cocktail reception before the screening of the first film in the five-day festival launched at the Errol Barrow Centre for Creative Imagination.
