STUDENTS of the Alleyne School have caught the eye of Minister of Education Ronald Jones.
And against that background, he is putting things in place for the Belleplaine, St Andrew institution to join the ranks of other sixth form school.
Speaking at a ceremony in the school hall to launch the school’s Leaders Week yesterday, the minister said he wanted to see “the Alleyne School, before I demit office or am forced to demit office, become a sixth form school . . . . You do well and you continue to do well”.
Jones said there would have to be new infrastructure to create enough space to run three additional classes to have a core that could do Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE). (LK)
