Parish Land folks uneasy about coming residents

With 20 squatters from Rock Hall set to join their community soon, residents of Parish Land Tenantry, St Philip, are concerned that their slice of heaven, as they have come to know it, could be forever changed.

Yesterday, Minister of Housing Dr William Duguid broke ground on the road for the development, signalling the start of the fulfilment of a promise to fix an issue more than a decade old.

However, Parish Land residents told the Midweek Nation while they are happy that their fellow parishioners could finally, legitimately own a piece of the rock, they are fearful of the unknown.

Forty-year resident Austin Harrington explained that the community was most concerned about preserving their way of life. (CLM)
