Caribbean Airlines cancels Jamaica flights

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Caribbean Airlines has cancelled several flights due to the impending passage of Hurricane Matthew.

In a news release Saturday, the airline listed the affected flights, which were all scheduled for Sunday, October 2 and Monday, October 3.

The affected flights that were scheduled for Sunday were destined for Nassau, Bahamas; Kingston, Jamaica; John F Kennedy Airport in New York; and Lester Pearson International in Toronto, Canada.

Caribbean Airlines noted that two flights scheduled for Sunday will operate, but at earlier departure times.

Those flights will be from Piarco in Trinidad to Kingston, which will depart at 7:50 a.m., and from Kingston to Piarco, which will depart at 11 a.m.

Caribbean Airlines said their flights to Kingston, Trinidad, Florida and Montego Bay on Monday have all been cancelled.

In the meantime, Caribbean Airlines says it has activated its call out plan to contact customers travelling on the affected flight.
