THERE WAS a sense of déjà vu as there were more empty spaces than people in St Joseph and St Andrew for the One People, One Barbados Human Chain Link yesterday. It was a repeat of what happened in 1979 when the first chain link was staged.
Around 9:15 a.m. things looked promising at the Gaggs Hill junction in St Joseph where students from St Elizabeth Primary had assembled.
After Gaggs Hill, the activity became lighter, with the exception of Cattlewash, where students from The St Michael School dotted the way with firm links by staff members from the Warrens Polyclinic.
At Barclays Park on the East Coast, workers of the Transport Board and Erdiston Teachers’ Training College formed a tight ring until they met up with students of Sharon Primary School and the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic. (MR/TSG)
