IT WAS A procession fit for a prince.

Britain’s Prince Harry arrived at the Bridgetown Port this morning as he continued his tour of the Caribbean.

From around 9:30 a.m. a few people gathered outside the Bridgetown Port with phone cameras in hand to catch a glimpse of the prince as he exited the port. Police were stationed at various points ensuring a smooth arrival.

Under cloudy skies, police officers on motorcycles cleared the way for the fifth in line to the British throne.

Soon after, Prince Harry arrived in a dark blue SUV. His corsage of blue and yellow was clearly visible through the windows.

Those looking on waved enthusiastically in greeting.

Prior to this, Prince Harry was met by Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave; Prime Minister Freundel Stuart; Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force, Colonel Alvin Quintyne; and Acting Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith, and accorded a Royal Salute by a Guard of Honour.

The royal visit comes as Barbadians celebrate 50 years of independence. Prince Harry is expected to spend three days on the island. (TKS)
