Home Show an adventure in colour

A BRILLIANT KALEIDOSCOPE of colour awaits patrons at this year's Home Show, which promises to be one of the most vibrant and colourful exhibitions of 2006.
Under the theme Adventures In Colour, the exhibition, open from Friday to Sunday, will see some of Barbados' leading companies in the housing and interior decorating industry coming together to create an incredible display that organisers assure will both "inspire and educate".
Manager of Home Show and special event planner, Ann Johnson, said this year's focus on colours was chosen to coincide with the innovative trends in the industry.
"People in general are recognising the beauty of bold, unconventional colours," she said, "and we want to show them that there is an array of decorating possibilities that will allow them to include these vibrant colours while making their homes unique, comfortable and inviting."
Some of the most popular exhibitors have returned for this year's exhibition where they will be joined by new exhibitors to bring this imaginative concept to life.
"The Tiffany Room on the ground floor will be transformed into a virtual Christmas Corner where exhibitors will be offering patrons a variety of intriguing services, ranging from recommendations to help with their Christmas shopping to creative ideas for Christmas home decoration," Johnson said. A selection of gifts will also be on sale.
She added that at the Bazaar on the first floor, patrons will be able to see and purchase some of the "trendiest and most colourful home accessories and decorations on the market". Here, there will also be an assortment of clothing from some of the foremost names in the fashion industry.
"Thanks to our generous sponsors," Johnson said, "patrons can win a number of exciting prizes, including the chance at the incredible grand prize of a two-bedroom home, inclusive of accessories, valued at $80 000 as well as the offer of a loan of up to $150 000 and the provision of legal fees up to $5 000 for the purchase of land."
