A NUMBER of Government agencies are preparing to review their marine rescue procedures and the requisite resources as part of a simulation exercise today, World Ocean Day.

The event will take place at the Sandy Lane Beach between 10 a.m. and noon and is one of the several activities planned to commemorate the day.

The agencies involved include Folkestone Marine Reserve Patrol, the National Conservation Commission, the Emergency Ambulance Service, the marine section of the Royal Barbados Police Force and the Coast Guard. This exercise will also allow the various groups to understand the pivotal role the rangers and lifeguards play in the safety of the marine environment. (BGIS)
