GOD IS MIGHTIER than all other things.
This was the message from Reverend Lionel Gibson of the Church of God at yesterday's multi-faith service put
on by the Church of God Reformation Movement at the gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
Gibson said people tried to resist the will of God but it was not so easy to sidetrack Him. He said God's gaze was upon us all and no one escaped His notice.
He pointed out that in biblical days the horse was the symbol of strength but in these times it would be stealth weapons.
"People put strength in their intelligence, in the education system . . . but God is mightier than all these things," he said.
Gibson said people should look at how God dealt with the nation that repented.
"Barbados' problem is a spiritual one. The way forward is to sacrifice 'till the blessings come and don't quit," he said.
A number of politicians were present at the service which was attended by thousands of people. (WB)
