Cricket Logistics 2007, a consortium comprising Gullivers Sports Travel and Hospitality in Partnership United Kingdom, was selected after an open tender process that closed in April, announced Chris Dehring, chief executive officer of Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007.
Cricket Logistics 2007 would be in touch with Caribbean tourist bureaux to offer assistance and to discuss partnership opportunities, and would be the only official source of commercial tickets, Dehring said.
It also will have the rights to distribute match tickets sold as part of a tour and travel or hospitality package, and will manage all travel and accommodation arrangements
for participating teams, officials and sponsors.
David Hall, director of Cricket Logistics 2007, said he was delighted with the contract, adding the consortium would aim to employ Caribbean nationals in the tournament.
"Going forward, the aim is to employ only Caribbean nationals. All staff will be trained in the ways of 'large sporting events' and will be given the opportunity to attend travel seminars and other training opportunities," Hall said.
