Four primary teams to the fore

FOUR SCHOOLS took their records to 4-0 after the last round of matches in the Guardian General Herman Griffith Primary Schools' Cricket Competition.
St Philip Primary, Charles F. Broome, Sharon Primary, and Wesley Hall Primary are all unbeaten and lead their respective groups.
In Zone B2, Charles F. Broome maintained their unbeaten record with a 30-run victory over Luther Thorne Memorial. However, they will have to keep a close watch on Erdiston who have a 3-0 record.
An unbeaten 46 by Kelmar Thorpe and 32 by Kyle Sargeant took St Philip to 103 for four against St Mark's.
Aneir and Akeel Campbell then combined to take six wickets for 28 runs and Sargeant picked up two to secure the victory and maintain their lead in Zone C1, which was formerly dominated by St Catherine Primary. Neighbours Bayley's are keeping pace and are 3-0 after beating St Martin's Four Roads by 88 runs.
Sharon Primary had an emphatic victory over Eagle Hall, winning by 197 runs. Chad Williams led Sharon with 75 runs and Junior Martindale cleaned up the batting, taking seven wickets for nine runs to help dismiss Eagle Hall for 22 in 9.2 overs.
Like the other teams, Sharon Primary have to keep watch on West Terrace who have three wins and are expected to secure another victory against Welches in D2.
Wesley Hall stayed in control of Zone D1 with a 34-run victory over St Stephen's.
Meanwhile, captain Shayne Edward led from the front as St Paul's had their first victory when they defeated St Angela's by 60 runs.
Edward topscored with 26 as St Paul's posted 106 for eight and then returned to take six wickets for three runs, including a hat-trick, to skittle out St Angela's for 46. (SAC)
