THE FOOTBALL transfer market was hot and busy during the past week with a number of late shifts from club to club.
National captain Norman Forde's move from Arawak Youth Milan to Claytons Kola Tonic Notre Dame remains the biggest talking point, but there are some other prominent nomads among a whopping 32 footballers who got transfers.
Forde is not the only loss Youth Milan has suffered with coach Jerry Skeete taking a break to concentrate on his role with the Barbados World Cup team.
Former national defender Elvin Griffith has joined forces with Valrico Technico, who have also benefited from the arrival of former Eden Stars' captain and midfielder Nicholas "Allan" King, Kenroy Weekes from Silver Sands and Damien Williams of Sutherland.
Another Eden Stars player, speedy winger Deomaji Samuel has teamed up with the Dames as well as former Beverley Hills' striker Dwayne Stanford.
Kevin Alleyne (Pinelands), Tony Pompey (Sunderland) and Mario Harte (Carlton) have joined the Barbados Defence Force's football programme.
Midfielder Malcolm "Buju" Marshall and striker Jason Sealy have ended their stint with the BDF's programme and are joining Weymouth Wales and Silver Sands, respectively.
Also at Silver Sands are the Paradise's striker Jamar Harewood, Darrin Layne, Leron Forde and goalkeeper Rhawn Cox, who takes over from Vasco Husbands, who has moved to lower division side, Roam.
Big name
Wales have also secured another big-name wanderer in striker Ricky Barnes as well as Kevin Gordon from the Dames and Jamar Walters from Benfica.
Paradise, making a return to the Premiership after spending one year in Division 1, will be boosted by the return of sweeper Jarvis Forde, who had moved from Silver Sands to Tudor Bridge last year.
Roving midfielder Curtis Odle is on the move again. He has left the Dames and is back at Tudor Bridge, who have lost Jason Carter and Rudolph Maxwell to Deacons but have also gained Rohan Hewitt from Beverley Hills and Deighton Ward from Deacons, who have gained Jason King from Beverley Hill.
Paradise have secured midfielder Mustafa Haqq from Haggatt Hall and former Lodge School star player, Jamal Chandler. But another Paradise youth player, Greg Manderville has switched to Brittons Hill, who have lost the over-lapping left-wing player Leon White to Haggatt Hall where Troy Carter, formerly of Technico and Brittons Hill's Quincy Jones will now suit up.
