BACK FRESH from a two-week Easter vacation and re-energised to work hard on studies!
This was the general feeling among school children all over Barbados who came out looking their best for the first day of school for the last term of the school-year 2007 to 2008.
Boys with sharp hair cuts, girls with well-groomed hair, polished shoes, more traffic on the road made it evident that school was back in session.
Meanwhile, frolicking children, heads bobbing as they crossed the busy streets forced motorists to exercise extreme caution in school zones.
Many students did not want to be late for the first day back to school and from around 7 a.m. they were at bus stops awaiting their rides.
Over at West Terrace Primary School, one Class 4 with 14 boys and 11 girls was preparing a comprehension exercise with teacher, Quinthe Blackman for their Common Entrance Exam.
Principal Arthur Parris said all 93 Class 4 students completed in lessons the Easter vacation.
In addition, a special education class with six boys and six girls were learning their tables with teacher, Cheryl Springer.
