Henry's Lane to the fore in Division 3

FOUR TEAMS registered easy wins when the Division 3 competition continued at the Table Tennis Centre, John Beckles Drive, Constitution Road, St Michael, last weekend.
Diamonds International Henry's Lane "A" and "B" inflicted 4-0 defeats on Barbados Union Of Teachers (BUT) and Combined Schools, respectively; Kilowatt stopped Sharon "A" 4-1; while Legends "B" rolled over Sharon "B" 4-0.
As far as the two other matches that were to be played were concerned, Barbados Defence Force defaulted to Legends "A", and Fast Loopers defaulted to Central Bank.
In the Henry's Lane "A" vs Combined Schools match-up, Albert Collymore Snr. defeated Romario McClean 11-4, 11-6, 11-1; Lisa Collymore blew away Tamika Morris 11-2, 11-3, 11-3; Megan Steinbok rolled over Anderson Pilgrim 11-1, 11-1, 11-4; and Lisa Collymore and Steinbok trounced McClean and Morris 11-2, 11-1, 11-6.
Legends B's Rashid King and Anthony Cadogan proved far too good for Sharon B's Ramon Jackman and Kadijah Jones. King stopped Jackman at 4, 5 and 2; Cadogan went even better by routing Jones at 2, 1 and 3; and in the doubles they combined to beat Jackman and Jones at 3, 1 and 8.
And in the final set, King got the better of Jones 11-5, 12-10, 11-5 to complete the 4-0 rout.
Edwin Jordan and Julien Ifill played unbeaten in Kilowatt's 4-1 win over Sharon "A". Ifill defeated Nicholas Jackman in the opening set 11-7, 11-5, 11-2; Jordan then stopped Rakim Hinds at 11-9, 11-7, 11-8; Jordan and Ifill teamed up to beat Jackman and Michaela Batson 11-4, 11-3, 11-4; while Jordan returned to trounce Jackman 11-4, 11-3, 11-4.
Sharon A's lone win came from Dylan Clarke-Herbert who beat Tiffani Smith 11-3, 11-1, 11-4.
