BARBADOS hosted the second leg of the CEA Junior Jumping Competition, held at Big C Stables last weekend. However, only two of the three rounds were completed. The competition was scheduled to run on Saturday and Sunday but rain caused Sunday's scheduled events to be cancelled.
The competition consisted of three teams Bermuda, Trinidad and Barbados, each with three members, two in the 16 and Under Division and one in the 12 and Under Division.
Barbados' team of Adriana King and Kyle Holder won the Under-16 Division with 15.5 points, with the team of Christina Rossant and Garyk Jaggan from Trinidad in second with 15 points and Bermuda's Marlena Tucker and Brittany Ricca third with 13.5 points.
The individual standings were Brittany Ricca of Bermuda in first place, Christina Rossant of Trinidad in second, Adriana King and Kyle Holder of Barbados in third and fourth respectively, Garyk Jaggan of Trinidad in fifth and Marlena Tucker of Bermuda in sixth position.
In the 12 and Under Division, the riders' points do not count towards the islands' standings as this is considered to be good training and experience for the upcoming young riders who will eventually represent their islands in the 16 and Under Division.
In this division, Trinidad and Tobago and Bermuda tied for first position with Barbados placing third.
The visiting riders did a great job as they had to navigate the courses on horses they had never ridden before. (PR)
