FLUFF, PUFF, and inconsequential, was how Opposition Leader David Thompson summed up the contents of a letter he received from Prime Minister Owen Arthur on Wednesday.
In that letter Arthur criticised Thompson about comments he (Thompson) made about Cricket World Cup.
When the SUNDAY SUN caught up with Thompson yesterday he was with a number of DLP candidates as they canvassed in the constituency of Christ Church West Central.
"I didn't pay any attention to that (letter). I wrote to the Prime Minister about Challenor School and I was only interested in whether the Government was going to quickly try to solve the problems of [the school]. And if I take the letter seriously I assume that he is going to do so.
"The other what I would call fluff and puff in his letter is of no consequence to me.
"I think Barbados has been served by prime ministers in the past, I don't think any of them has sunk to the kind of low levels of political commentary that Prime Minister Arthur has got to. . . .
"My concern was Challenor School, it remains my principal concern. His views of me are really of no consequence to me," Thompson said.
