This decision came out of a meeting held on July 3 which was attended by over 20 of the relocated residents, Democratic Labour Party (DLP) political hopeful for St Michael South East, Undene Whittaker, and DLP hopeful for The City, Patrick Todd.
A statement from the newly-formed group Citizens For Relocation raised several concerns about how Government carried out the relocation exercise.
It claimed that only "a single meeting facilitated their knowledge about the relocation" and that after that meeting, held in Queen's Park, it was two years before any action was taken.
In addition, the statement added that residents were concerned about "pressure placed on them to sign affidavits prepared by the Ministry of Housing".
On June 23, a statement from the Ministry of Housing said that in every case, those relocated had received larger homes with more amenities than before.
However, some residents contradicted this, maintaining that their new homes were smaller than those they left behind.
"Contrary to the comments that their homes were bigger and better, some residents complained that in some cases, their homes were smaller," read the statement.
Concerns were also raised that there was no process of third party independent evaluation on the correct measurement of their homes and about the quality of construction.
