Digicel winner thrilled

FOUR DAYS of euphoria.
That was how Tyronne Babb, winner of the grand prize Mitsubishi L200 Sportero in the Move With Digicel promotion, described the time leading up to receiving his prize.
An exuberant Babb, collected his prize at Digicel's head office in Hastings, Christ Church, recently. He said he experienced loss of appetite and sleep since he got the call last week saying he was the big winner.
"I was jumping up and down and shouting Hallelujah, like if I was mad . . . . Yes, I'm crazy and madly in love with Digicel," said Babb, who has been with Digicel for almost three years.
"From the launch of the Move With Digicel promotion, I made up my mind that I wanted to be the grand prize winner. I started to purchase $30 top-up cards regularly and even bought a new phone when my previous one was damaged to ensure I had a good chance at winning," the 42-year-old added.
The Goodland, St Michael resident plans to sell the vehicle, but he kissed and caressed the shiny red machine for prosperity. He doesn't have a driver's licence, but said he might get one in the future.
"I was just getting some memories and something for future reference that at least I could tell people that this is what I won . . . ," he said with a hearty laugh.
Babb, who was also given a W580 phone, said the Sportero was his first big win.
He was presented with the keys by Digicel's head of sales Alex Tasker, who congratulated Babb for being a very good Digicel customer.
The promotion started on December 1 and ran through February 8. Ten subscribers won $1 000 prizes and each one was eligible to win MP4 players, boom boxes, and radio backpacks. (YB)
