THE BOOMING BARBADIAN ECONOMY has received top marks from PRMR Incorporated market research director Dr Emanuela Todeva.
Todeva, also a senior lecturer in Strategy and International Business at the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom, said businesses were also flourishing and were taking advantage of new business opportunities both regionally and extra-regionally.
She made this comment while speaking during the official launch of the island's newest public relations (PR) firm PRMR Incorporated, PR consultants at Josef's Restaurant in the St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church, two weeks ago.
Todeva said she was also impressed with the intellect of Barbadian students she had met since 2004 as a lecturer on the Surrey MBA programme.
During this time, she said, she had seen Barbados' economy grow on its way to a strong position in the Caribbean region.
"I strongly believe that building relationships with regional and global partners and stirring openness and public communications will enhance both business growth and economic growth," Todeva said about the link between public communication and business growth.
Likewise, PRMR Inc. managing director Pamala Proverbs who studies mergers and acquisitions and had experienced one first-hand said that companies oftentimes shared their plans with financial people and lawyers but left PR professionals out of the process. (JW)
