BAOP preparing for changing times
Published on: 2/25/08.
THE BARBADOS ASSOCIATION of Office Professionals (BAOP) is taking steps to equip its members for the changing working environment.
About 130 members from 48 companies, including three schools, took part in a one-day seminar on Friday at Sherbourne Conference Centre, which looked at Communication And Etiquette In The Multicultural Workplace.
BAOP president Olivet Hinds said the seminar was the 11th annual conference held by the association.
She said the theme was driven by the fact that a number of multinational countries were being set up in Barbados as a result of globalisation, and the BAOP was making sure that professionals were equipped.
The sessions were facilitated by SFA Communications managing director Alison Saunders-Franklyn and the company's client services manager Lynette Taylor. Angela Carter, Nation Publishing Company business manager, was guest speaker. (YB)
