Polo action at grounds in Holders Hill and Waterhall in St James, as well as Lion Castle and Clifton Hill, St Thomas, has been generating tremendous interest.
Teams from America, Canada and Britain have so far competed against Barbados squads and local players have more than held their own.
Currently in Barbados are the British teams Cheshire and Chester. Yesterday Barbados came up against Cheshire at Lion Castle and won 9-4. This game was preceded by an encounter between the Bajan teams Kamikazee and Diamonds Black, which ended in a 4-3 victory for the latter.
In other action at the Waterhall Polo Ground, Chester defeated Virgin Atlantic 6 1/2-6 in a nail-biting match-up.
