Gayle makes case for break before final

JAMAICAN CAPTAIN CHRIS GAYLE is urging Stanford 20/20 officials to have a day's break between the semi-finals and finals of the tournament.
His comments came because that the team winning last night's second semi-final between Jamaica and Guyana would have to play the final tonight.
It represents a change from the inaugural tournament when the two semi-finals, played on successive days, were followed by a rest day and the final the next day.
"I know they wanted to play the games on weekends, but maybe you could have squeezed in a game on Thursday. Maybe you could play Thursday, Friday and the big one on Sunday," Gayle said on the eve of their semi-final.
"It is something they can look at. It is just a little disadvantage at this particular time. What can be done? We just have to face it and deal with it."
Trinidad and Tobago, winners over Barbados by five runs in the first semi-final on Friday night, would have been afforded the opportunity of a break yesterday to recharge their batteries.
"Whosoever won the first semi-final got an automatic break," Gayle said.
"A 20/20 game might seem short but it takes a lot out of an individual. It will be nice to get an extra day in between the final."
