EDWARD "YOGI BEAR" NEBLETT, in association with Jet Promotions, will be staging a big boxing card on March 22 at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
Neblett told the SATURDAY SUN yesterday the five-fight card would be headlined by Guyanese pugilists, Revlon Lake and Richard Howard. He described the ten-round encounter as a "grudge match" between the two lightweights.
Also on the card will be junior lightweights Selwyn Lett and Malcolm Smith of Barbados who will be going at it over six rounds.
Super bantamweights Ricardo Blackman of Barbados and Guyana's Dexter Marks will also fight over six rounds. The card will be completed by junior welterweights John "The Hammer" Trotman of Barbados versus Guyana's Errol Trotman, and local boy Julian "Thunder" Tannis coming up against Cleveland Frasier of Guyana in a super middleweight clash.
Neblett said the fighters have all been in training at the Belfield Sports Pavilion, Black Rock, St Michael, and Pitman's Gym in Carrington Village, St Michael, over the past six weeks.
"It should be a great night of boxing and I am calling on fight fans to come out and support the card and enjoy some great contests," he said. (WG)
