The biblical account of Jesus Christ's Resurrection is real, said Reverend Vincent Wood in his Easter sermon yesterday.
He said that while some people had no problem with Jesus' death they had a problem with his Resurrection.
"The Christ we are serving is alive. Jesus is alive, no matter what some people may say," he told the congregation at the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
He likened the disbelief to the current presidential race in the United States where some found it hard to believe that a black man, Barack Obama, could be on his way to the White House.
The pastor said that at the time of Jesus' Resurrection even some of his disciples were in doubt and when they heard of his rising from the dead dismissed the account as an idle tale.
Wood's sermon The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Is A Reality was taken from Luke 24: 6 and 11.
Christians, he said, had a story to tell; a Gospel to be spread; but because of the way they lived some were not building up their faith.
"We have traded masters, from the devil to Jesus. We have a new heart . . . . We have a story to tell the nation. I hope as we are gathered here we have the story buried in our hearts that the Christ we are serving is alive," he said. (AC)
