IN ORDER to preserve his amateur status and remain viable for a university scholarship, track star and World Youth Games champion Shane Brathwaite has had to hand back the spanking Ford Focus for capturing the Sports Personality For 2007 award.

He was presented with the fully-loaded vehicle at this year's National Sports Council's awards.

Last weekend, the 18-year-old wonder boy also won Carifta gold in St Kitts. (MK)
