THE FIFTH annual Wedding And Honeymoon Blitz promises to be the perfect union of price and style.

Managing director of Explorer Travel, Kim Bradshaw, said the show was set up primarily as the ideal place for people who were thinking about getting married.

"It is an opportunity to see trends and fashion and to be in a better position to plan for your wedding or honeymoon at bargain show-only prices," she said.

Explorer Travel is the host of the trade show, that will take place from June 7 to 8 at Hilton Barbados, Needham's Point, St Michael.

At the launch of the blitz at the Hilton on Wednesday, sponsors and exhibitors were given appreciation awards.

In a telephone interview afterwards, Bradshaw highlighted what was new this year.

"There will be an opportunity for a couple to win their honeymoon and reception for free – a $50 000 grand prize," she said.

There will also be a "dynamic" entertainment package, where people can see a live wedding, she said.

"The participation has been very significant with an increase in patrons and exhibitors. We started with 15 exhibitors and had 45 last year. This year we expect 60," she said. (CA)
